The
challenges faced by NWSC are too many but summarily, they are mainly:
- Shortage of water for rapidly growing population, especially in the Kathmandu Valley urban areas including the capital.
- Very of network system in place but still in use, contributing to a
high leakage percentage (system loss), demanding immediate up-grading.
- Financial resources constraints to meet ever growing
demand/aspirations from the public.
- Strengthen institutional capacity to fulfill customer’s expectation
in the new Millennium.
- Need to complete with private utilities in the coming years.
